Glass, motion, and dazzling horizons — the Montjuïc ride rewards patience and planning.

Compositional lines

Seats and angles

  • Front-left seat up: City unfolding beneath you.
  • Back-right seat down: Sea and port in layers.
  • Corner seats: Best for diagonals and avoiding reflections.

Trick: Wear dark clothing to minimize your reflection in the glass.

Lenses and settings

  • 24–70mm: Flexible for cabins and landscapes.
  • 85mm+: Compress skyline layers from the castle.
  • Shutter priority around 1/500s in bright light to freeze motion.

Reflection control

  • Shade the lens with a hand or hat.
  • Place the lens close to the glass (but not touching).
  • Polarizer can help, but mind cabin reflections.

Post-ride photo spots

  1. Castle ramparts: 360° panoramas.
  2. Mirador viewpoint: Mid-hill frames with trees for depth.
  3. MNAC terrace: Iconic city axis down to Plaça d'Espanya.
  4. Jardins de Laribal: Steps, stone, and shade for portraits.

Note: Tripods are fine outdoors; be mindful of crowds and edges.
